THE CLUB

Established in 1919, Beaufort Badminton Club is one of the oldest in the country. It caters for a broad range of standards from new players to league and county standard. The club has 3 sections to cater for this variety of standard. Feather shuttles are used in all sections.

TOP SECTION NOW CALLED
BEAUFORT PARK

Monday Night General section - St Ursula's School, Brecon Road, Westbury-on-Trym, Mondays 7:15pm-10pm, four courts, feather shuttles. Section reps: Ian Thomas, Inge Van der Veen and Juliet Oakhill.
Wednesday General section - St Ursula's, Wednesdays 7pm-10pm, four courts, feather shuttles. Section reps : John Formby, Colin Palmer and Inam Raza .
Top Section - Club nights Monday at Kingsdown Sports Centre, Cotham, Three courts from 7pm till 10.30pm. Feather shuttles and a very high standard of play. Beaufort Park are regular winners of Bristol League Division 1 mens, ladies and mixed. Club standard is high with regular Avon County main team players and Avon Masters players including national and international champions. Home matches are played at Kingsdown, either on a Wednesday (7pm) or Thursday (8pm). Please come along for a very enjoyable evening of badminton, and a friendly club. LEAGUE TEAMS
Beaufort Park field 3 Bristol mixed, 3 Bristol Mens, 1 Mid-Glos Mixed and 1 Mid-Glos Mens in the higher divisions of these leagues.
St Ursula's based sections field a Bristol mens team and a Mid-Glos Mens team.
COURTS & FACILITIES
Kingsdown is a popular local sports centre and the courts are wood sprung flooring. Changing facilities are a good standard, with property lockers available.
St Ursula's School hall has a good floor surface, changing and shower rooms available. These venues do not charge membership fees for badminton club members.
MEMBERSHIP
Fees: 'all sections charge fees in ranges, reviewed annually, currently as follows: Winter fee of £93-£117; Summer fee of £57-£75 or Annual fee of £135-£165. Visitors fees £5 per visit. Visitors fees allowed for if joining and full subscription paid. Full time students may have a 50% reduction in subscriptions. Players joining two sections may be entitled to a discount on their second subscription. Members affiliated to Badminton England and Avon County from fees collected. This affiliation and a separate sports policy provide substantial public liability insurance and other benefits for members. NEWS & EVENTS
Beaufort merged with Parkside Badminton Club from the 2005-2006 season and provides competitive badminton at Kingsdown Sports Centre under the name Beaufort Park. 'A junior club with accredited coaches and adhering to Badminton England child protection policy plays weekly in the season.
All sections are friendly and welcoming, new members are sought and can find their level within the sections and rise through as appropriate. Social events are arranged especially in the winter season.
Club tournaments are arranged especially at the end of the winter season.
