New Partnership works for Chris

 Following a shake up in June by Badminton England new partnerships were formed in the development squad with Chris and partner of 7 years Matthew Nottingham being split up and given new partners. Chris was paired up with England team-mates Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden for a trial period and in the mixed Chris was partnered with England Team-mate Sophie Brown from Yorkshire. After only 4 tournaments BE formed new partnerships once more and in the Men's Doubles Chris was paired up with GB team-mate Paul Van Reitvelde. In only their 3rd tournament together Chris and Paul reached the semi-final of the Yonex Welsh International in Cardiff but the surprise partnership with Sophie has proved to be a partnership with potential and this was realised when in only their 4th tournament together Chris and Sophie won the Yonex Welsh International at the end of November beating the No: 1 seeds from Canada in the Semi-Final and the No: 2 seeds from Germany in the final. Chris is look forward to progressing the new partnerships in 2015.
Chris was signed to represent Team Derby in the new National Badminton League being aired live by Sky each month on a Monday. In the first match in October, against Birmingham Lions, Chris played mixed doubles with Gail Emms, which they narrowly lost, Derby lost 2-3. In the November match against Loughborough he played men's doubles with Andy Ellis, which they won and Derby won 3-2. Next NBL matches can be seen on 26th January, 23rd March and 27th April. Chris regularly represents Avon 1 in their Premier League team.
