MID GLOS LEAGUE
INFORMATION & NEWS PAGE
1. All existing Mid Glos League Clubs will shortly be sent hard copies of papers relating to the League AGM, which will be held on Wednesday 15 September in BAWA, Filton. Soft copies will be available here from a later date.
2. It is important that all League Clubs send an accredited representative to the meeting. Non-attendance without prior advice to the League Secretary could mean that the Club is debarred from participating in the League.
3. Clubs are asked to respond as soon as possible to the League Secretary on the teams they wish to enter in the 2010/11 leagues.
ANY EXISTING CLUBS OR NEW CLUBS WHO WISH TO ENTER NEW TEAMS IN THE MID GLOS LEAGUE WOULD BE WARMLY WELCOMED AND SHOULD CONTACT THE LEAGUE SECRETARY (Details available on this website)
4. Trophies will be presented to the champions of each Division of the League. The Committee wish to extend their congratulations to ST Lukes A, ST Lukes B and Glos+Stars in the Mixed Divisions and Pill, Bishop Road and Glos+ Stars in the Mens Divisions.
5. There were no issues in regards to rule contraventions on which the Committee had to act. There were a small number of conceeded matches and matches where a full team was not played.
6. The Dennis Aspinall trophy for the most successful player(s) in the Mixed League will also be presented at the AGM. Congratulations to Shirley Green and Dean Leppier of St Lukes for jointly winning the trophy for the 2008/9 season.
7. The accounts will be presented at the AGM and the entry fees for 2010/11 agreed. At the present time it seems likely that the committee will not be seeking an increase in entry fees.
8. Clubs are reminded that the George Rowdon/Sid Moxon competitions, as in 2010, will be played after the conclusion of the winter league programme. Full details will be made available at a later date.
9. The Committee note that the closure of St Ursulsa School was announced at the beginning of August. Those Clubs affected are advised to clarify their positions as to availability of courts and, where necessary, seek alternative locations to play their matches.
